Oooh no! That must be gutting, but the extra 'respect gained' for going out in heavy waves might make up for some of it (?). Did you have a good hols apart from getting a [big] ding on your board Clive?

Hey Clive, hope you had a great time? Looking forward to catching up soon to hear all about your trip mate, been a long time! Where did you manage to trash the board, on the reef at Hikkaduwa? Looks like that second pic might have been taken there, or was it somewhere else along the South coast? Where did you surf and where did you visit buddy? More pics coming soon I hope? Rog

Hi Rog, Did spend 2 days at Hikkaduwa, but the damage was done on a shallow reef break at Rams Easy Left at Midigama, where I spent most of the time as it was about the only place that was working on the SW coast. Rest of the photos are on my facebook page. See you soon.

That's true enough Sim Hey Clive, I checked out the pics...looks like you had fun...I wouldn't expect anything less mate! Rams had just been rebuilt after the Tsunami when we visited in late 2005, Steve Twiggs was staying there the Winter before when it hit and got washed into the jungle, along with the buildings! Doug got washed over the reef at lazy lefts too, got separated from his board and had to be rescued. The right there is pretty shallow eh! Is there still much rebuilding to do there along the South coast? The tourist places had already been rebuilt by the end of that year, but many of the non tourist areas were still devastated. Hope to see you soon for a catch up. Rog
