I just want to satisfy my curiosity, I think I already know the answer, but maybe you can help me out. Does anyone take any notice of wetsuit guides and product reviews in UK surf magazines? Happy if you can help me out.

They never seem like objective reviews to me, just copy from the manufacturer's marketing departments.

Occasionally I look at then, though I don't read many surf mags, so don't get much exposure. Tend to use online sources for info. They can be helpful. If you're interested, it's "information", if not it's "advertising"... Some are blatantly just the manufacturers blurb, thinking especially the surf board lineups, so not that useful for comparing products, but can still be helpful to know what the shapers or think a board is for. I don't see many comparison reviews like you do in onther sports mags, such as biking, where there are regular reviews on bikes for different purposes or budgets, or different pieces of kit, like bags, lights (usually one of those every autumn) tyres, and other bits of gear. That's the sort of thing that seems to be seriouly missing from surf mags. They have infomercials for the latest toys, but not many comparisons and ratings. Boards, Suits, boots, gloves, even wax could be done, but nothing is. Cheers.
