Folks

Not sure it was clear before, there's 2 beds left for this weekend, they're available to all whether or not you want to do the coaching, just post up on here if you can make it along.

Hey Steve,

It was a great day with the BSC members plus Sam and Wailin the coaches from Surf's Up Surf School.

I'd never seen myself surfing or had any kind of lesson before so new experiences there. It was a relief not to have any of my numerous face-plants played back to the group but no doubt the release of the un-edited video will reveal all!

I learnt a lot and can't wait to practice the things the coaches said we should be trying to do over Christmas and New Year. I think there'll be a lot of interest for further lessons.

No worries!

It was a great weekend, conditions a little tricky (forgot how fast Harlyn can be!) at times but a great session with lots to go away and practice.

The session focused heavily on bottom turn technique, key point being to get low and keep your weight forward and to reach forward towards the front of your board with your inside (if going right and surfing regular) hand - tricky to do at first but definitely helped with drive out of the turn, and with generating speed.

After that everyone had individual feedback about body positioning, timing etc. Too much to list really but happy to talk it through over a pint

I'll try and get hold of a copy of the footage for those that only got to see the highlights, there's some classic moments in there

I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to have some time to put it all into practice, but i'm definitely up for another session to build on the first - perhaps sometime in March?!

Thanks for organising that Steve, it was a good weekend and I think we all got something useful out of it. I certainly look forward to doing it again after some practice.
It certainly worked better being a smaller group with more focus and hope we can organise something similar for other groups of people within the club.

Yer here here on the organisation, I had a great time and got a lot out of it, its got me fired up about surfing again and I can't wait to get back in the water and start to put what I've learnt in to practice.
